Evolving the
built environment to thrive
in a rapidly changing world.

Building Blocks.

We need learning environments to mimic the world of college and careers a range of spaces to collaborate, to work independently, and to engage in hands-on learning.

Improving our Environs.

Our Long Range Facilities Plan envisions District campus sites as community assets reflecting our values.

The plan celebrates our unique location as a hub of tech innovation in the Bay Area with a diversity of cultures located in a region rich with historic, ecological, and educational assets. It provides the space to meet contemporary academic needs and strategic initiatives – factoring in the growth that new housing developments like the Bishop Ranch redevelopment will bring.  By evolving our built environment, we can address a range of issues including shifting populations, inclusive campus landscapes, accessibility, and sustainability.  The vision for district-wide improvements to our environment is anchored around the following three big ideas.

Building Block One.

Building on Strengths.

Our passion for teaching and learning in our diverse community bolsters innovation and creativity to prepare for a rapidly changing world.

We are building our future on the foundation of academic excellence where all students thrive and succeed in innovative and inclusive learning environments.

Our Long Range Facilities Plan supports our drive to meet the needs of contemporary learners by aligning with SRVUSD values outlined in our new values-based Design Guidelines:

  • Intentional Collaboration
  • Active Learning Environments
  • Nature and the Outdoors
  • Mental and Physical Wellness
  • Applied and Experiential Learning
  • Develop Creative Contributors
  • Nurture Critical Thinkers
  • Inclusivity and Diversity

To propel these priorities as our strengths, the Plan integrates strategies to improve our environment as a reflection of our priorities and values.

Building Block Two.

Enhancing Student Life.

Every campus is transformed into a home away from home for all learners to feel a sense of belonging so that they can contribute to and change our world for the better.

We are building and sustaining innovative learning environments that support collaboration, wellness, and choice, while prioritizing inclusivity to accommodate individual needs and developmental stages.

Our Long Range Facilities Plan is tailored to enhance student life by optimizing modern and upgraded indoor and outdoor learning environments that bolster deep learning and innovation alongside social and emotional well-being. To guide our campus modernizations based on priorities, newly revised Design Guidelines provide an inclusive, collaborative approach to facilities planning.

Nurturing Community.

Our commitment is to provide environments that foster healthy, prosocial communities embracing diversity for students, staff and families to feel deeply connected to their school community.

Our Long Range Facilities Plan supports readiness for college, career, and civic life. This is accomplished through modernizations and upgrades that reflect changes in education, technology and safety standards.  For each learner to actualize their full potential, we will employ state-of-the-art learning environments where students enjoy and take ownership for their learning, supporting  their ability to achieve all of the competencies of the Learner Profile to become expert lifelong learners.
